(84) Assay Card

General Information
Summary Both kalata B1 oia and B1 nfk exhibited no haemolytic activity
Condition Human type A red blood cells were washed with PBS. Peptide solution (20 L) added to a 1 % suspension of RBCs in PBS (80 L). Test concentrations ranged from 0.5 to 1400 uM. Synthetic melittin (Sigma) was used as a positive control. The mixtures were incubated at room temperature for 1 h and then centrifuged at 150 g for 1 min. The supernatant (35 L) was diluted 1:30 in deionised (Milli-Q) water, and the absorbance was measured at 415 nm. The peptide concentration causing 50 % haemolysis (HD) was calculated.
Result Both kalata B1 oia and B1 nfk exhibited no haemolytic activity
