(19) Assay Card

General Information
Summary Hemolytic activity established for kalata B1, circulin A, circulin B and cyclopsychotride A
Condition Hemolytic activity of peptides was determined by using blood type A human erythrocytes (1.8¬ó^8 cells/ml). Peptide concentrations causing 50% hemolysis (EC50) were derived from the dose-response curves. Inhibition proliferation of mouse R1 fibroblasts by peptides was determined by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay using 2-3¬ó^3 cells in a 96-well format for 2-3 days. Peptide concentrations causing 50% cell growth inhibition (IC50) were derived from the dose-response curves.
Result Lysed human red blood cell with a lethal dose 50% of 400¬¬µM.
